Terms of Service — Baseline

Baseline measures how your behavior compares to your own patterns across voice, face, and language, and gives you a signal for self-reflection. Baseline is not a lie detector, a medical or psychological diagnostic, or a tool for judging other people. It produces a signal, not a verdict. You should not rely on it to make decisions about any person’s honesty, character, employment, safety, legal status, or wellbeing. Outputs are estimates and may be wrong.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum digital-consent age in your region, where applicable) to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement.

The Service uses anonymous accounts; some features sync derived results to our servers. Our handling of that data is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. You are responsible for any content you choose to provide (such as profile or player names) and for keeping access to your device secure. You may delete your data at any time from Settings → “Delete all my data.”

Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, subject to that store’s terms. Subscriptions renew automaticallyat the then-current price until cancelled, and any introductory offer converts to the standard recurring price when it ends. You can view, manage, or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law or the applicable store’s policy, payments are non-refundable, and refunds are handled by the store, not by us.

The Service, including its software, models, design, and content, is owned by Pyroclast Systems and protected by applicable laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal use, subject to these Terms. You retain any rights you have in content you create.

The Service relies on third parties (including Supabase, the Apple App Store, Google Play, and — only when you enable the AI content check — Anthropic). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its outputs are accurate or reliable for any purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pyroclast Systems will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any decision you or anyone else makes based on the Service’s output. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

We may modify or discontinue the Service, and may update these Terms, at any time. If we make material changes we will update the “Effective date” above and may note the change in the app or here. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute will be the state or federal courts located in Virginia, to the extent permitted by law.
